Lugol's Formula on the Way with Your Help!
Lugol's is a form of iodine in a distilled water formula, which our favorite pharmacist, Mike Ciell, recommends to many folks. Upon Mike's recommendation, I started adding two drops of Lugol's iodine a day to my morning shake and my red, irritated "rosacea eyes" disappeared within a week or so.

Yes, I am interested in Lugol's Formula. It has many uses and
should be part of one's medicine arsenal. I am one of Dr. Jon's original Kats. I learned so much from him and miss him.
I just started taking Lugol's Solution. My doctor prescribed it and I couldn't find it until couple of weeks ago. I was using iodoral instead. Lugol's was prescribed to help my hypothyroidism. I am taking Armour Thyroid which is very difficult to find and may disappear. I am taking 4 drops Lugol's 2 times a day. It is almost magical for me. I'll taper down to 2 drops a day after a month. If I take second dose too close to bedtime, I stay awake. Prior to thyroid and iodine, I had no energy when I woke up and for rest of day. I got my Lugol's from Amazon along with the book you recommended, I think. Even with thyroid and Lugol's my basal temperature remains at 97.6. Maybe I just run low? Was 95+ when I started this stuff back in May.
I started using Iodoral a week or so ago and it gives me a metalic taste in my mouth. Does Lugol's do this too? Is this just to be expected on iodine? What's the amount in Lugols?

I talk about what I have done for my particular case but cannot make any recommendations about the amount of Lugol's for someone else. I would recommend consulting with a good integrative practitioner or naturopath (I think Bastyr University naturopaths are quite well trained, by the way).
Dr Jerry Tennant of Inst of Integr-ative Medicine in Dallas says to use Lugol's 2% solution. 2 sprays anywhere on the body (it WILL stain clothes!) If the orange mark is gone in 24 hrs then you are deficient & need to keep applying daily until the mark is still visible in 24 hrs. Then just use once a week + Armor Thyroid when you can get it! Also "Be Young" Essential Oil of Myrrh 2drops appl to neck of big toe for hypothyroid
I too have been taking Iodoral for underactive thyroid. I hate to say it, but it really helped reduce my appetite as well. Rather amazing! I vote two thumbs up for stocking Lugol's Formula.
A singer client in NYC used it to amaze her "top" thyroid specialist. Iodine books by Dr David Brownstein and Dr David Derry hold the clues.

Yes, I am interested in Lugol's being made more widely available and without prescription!! I've used it now for a couple years with great effectiveness for several conditions.
