In this Issue:
Greetings
[[firstname]],
82% Voted to "Keep the Status Quo" on Shipping
We had a quick response to our shipping poll last week, and the results are
in (drum roll, please!). A whopping 82% of you voted to “Keep the Status
Quo.” Only 18% of you voted for a new flat-rate shipping model that would
involve modest price increases on products.
True to penny-pinching form, we had a number of members share their extensive
analysis of their past orders and their precise calculations of pros and cons
with each model. All of the data crunchers preferred the status quo.
Another sincerely devoted Co-op fan acknowledged the small business shipping
challenge:
I too run a small independent business. It frustrates me when people
think we are making a huge profit on the shipping charges. Even if it is
$1.00 over the cost of freight they do not understand that you must hire
staff to pick, pack and ship... that you have supplies - box, packing, tape,
paper, invoice, label. This isn't free to us yet some customers expect it to
be free to them. I'll never get it - although I love my job and want my
customers happy, I still have a family to support too. I have purchased for
you many years and have NEVER seen any overpriced shipping fees. Thanks so
much for your continued best business practices :-) Kate
So there you go, based on popular demand, the status quo prevails. Shipping
rates will stay the same. And, our prices will remain every (quality-conscious)
cheapskate’s dream!
Wish we could have it both ways, but even this kat’s magic can’t pull that
one off. ^..^
Xenoestrogens & Your Health -
Part 2
Last week
this kat talked about the dangers of xenoestrogens and their negative
effects on men's health. Cindy also published a blog on a similar topic
titled:
Feminizing Fish, Hormone Havoc & Detoxification.
Since xenoestrogens are such an important topic, this kat has more to say
this week regarding the effects of xenoestrogens on women and children.
Children are particularly sensitive to the effects of xenoestrogens. Young
girls are experiencing puberty at alarmingly early ages (development of
breast tissue as early as two years-old!), and young boys have a 200% higher
chance of being born with a reproductive defect. Boys are also showing
lower sperm counts
and higher
incidences of early-onset testicular cancer.
Interestingly, there are also
fewer
males being born
in many countries, particularly in those exposed to higher toxin levels.
Along the same lines, women are experiencing toxin related fertility and
general health problems. Xenoestrogens have been linked with an increase in
reproductive-site cancers, decreased fertility, diabetes, premature ovarian
failure, obesity, thyroid disruption, endometriosis, and uterine fibroids.
Natural estrogen is responsible for stimulating cell division in
hormone-responsive tissue like the uterus lining, breast tissue and the
ovaries. When xenoestrogens overloads estrogen cell receptors, they can
stimulate abnormal tissue growth causing ovarian cysts, endometriosis,
fibrocystic breast disease, and even cancer.
Xenoestrogens have been found to be a very
considerable factor in the occurrence of breast cancer,
which has increased exponentially in the last 70 years that xenoestrogens
have been around.
As
this kat said regarding men's hormonal health last week, this is scary stuff
fair members. Evidence continues to accumulate against xenoestrogens, yet
little is being done to curb their use. This is why it is especially
important to support your system in detoxifying effectively.
Support Xenoestrogen Detoxification
As
a reminder, here are some nutritional ways to support your body in
detoxifying xenoestrogens:
-
Constant Health
- packed with potent detoxifiers, antioxidants, and fibers, Constant
Health provides a myriad of helping hands when it comes to protecting
against xenoestrogens and other toxins.
-
Milk Thistle
- Particularly helpful to helping your liver keep up with detoxification
processes, milk thistle has also shown to support liver regeneration.
-
Fiber
- Keeping up with healthy elimination is particularly important for
ridding the body of toxins. Fiber helps absorb toxins and move them out
of the body quickly, so as not to provide opportunities for reabsorption.
-
Eat Your
Cruciferous Vegetables
- Cabbage, broccoli, and other cruciferous vegetables help fight
xenoestrogens with compounds like
indole-3-carbynol, which enhance the liver's
ability to break down excess estrogens in the system.

huge savings in order to find them good homes before fall.
Note:
If you want to stock up, you can be confident that both Soothing Greens and
Constant Health still contain plenty of punch. Just because the batch
"expires" doesn't mean it's no longer good; it only means that some of the
ingredients may not be 100% of their original potency. Since we formulate to
test out over 100% of label claim, we believe our products that are expiring
have more punch than many products that have not yet expired. Don't let the
expiration date scare you!
Many members have
found that an added benefit of taking Constant Health involves the
disappearance of a few unwanted pounds. Protein and fiber promote feelings
of satiation, making temptations easier to avoid.
Soothing Greens

$15 dollar savings from the
regular price. Long-term members and Bill Henderson’s subscribers alike are
scooping up Soothing Greens at this great price.

A South Dakota State University scientist’s
research shows an extract made from a food plant

Low Vitamin D Linked to the Metabolic Syndrome
in Elderly People.
A new
study adds to the mounting evidence that older
adults commonly have low vitamin D levels and
that vitamin D inadequacy may be a risk factor
for the metabolic syndrome, a condition that
affects one in four adults.
That's all for now, fair members!
