Vitamin D3
5,000 IU, 1,000 IU In Stock!
You can't go anywhere these days without hearing about the wide-ranging
benefits of vitamin D. Longevity, immunity, mental health, and cardiovascular
health are just a few of the sunshine vitamin's many benefits.
Trouble is most folks just aren't getting enough vitamin D into their systems
to significantly raise their serum levels.
Enter our new Vitamin D3 5,000 IU. Dr. Rodier has long wanted to see the
Co-op offer a
higher concentration of vitamin D3, and our new 5,000 IU product arrived just in
time for the long, dark nights of winter.
The even better news is that you pay only $1 more for 5 times the vitamin D3.
Yep, our new Vitamin D3 5,000 IU is only $3.98.
And, for those loyal to our Vitamin D3 1,000 IU, we have a fresh batch in
stock for you, too!

Vitamin D3 Donated to Malnourished Children
Speaking of Vitamin D3 1,000 IU, this kat wants to give a shout out to Harris
Johnson and the Tarrytown United Methodist Church of Austin, Texas for their
recent donation of 745 bottles of Vitamin D3 to children with Ricketts in
Appalachia.
A few weeks ago we
interviewed Harris, a long-time Co-op member and the organizer of the
donation. He shared how twenty-two young people of his church felt compelled to
"do something" about the children suffering Ricketts and other diseases due to
poverty and malnutrition in Appalachia.
Through church donations and some help from the Co-op, several crates of
single-serve Constant Health were shipped to Appalachia, and enough money
remained to purchase 745 bottles of Vitamin D3, too. Three cheers for the folks
of Tarrytown!
If you'd like to organize a donation from your community,
talk to Teri. We'd love to help!
Dr. Rodier on Regular Flu & H1N1 - Plus Vitamin D3 Recommendations
 Dr.
Rodier recently blogged about flu season, and here's what Dr. Rodier considers
important regarding viruses that go around at this time of year.
When discussing infections, people tend to emphasize the virulence of an
organism. This approach can create a lot of fear of being victimized by
especially bad strains of viruses.
At Dr. Rodier’s clinic, they also focus on teaching people to boost their
immune system function and avoid negative (victim-like) attitudes that can
further compromise their immune systems.
As many of you know, Louis Pasteur popularized vaccinations in the Western
world. Yet, after all his work, it is telling that he came to believe that the
problem with infections “is not the germ, but the terrain.” In other words,
strengthening your immune system gives you significant protection against any
infectious organism with a higher chance of success.
Things to do to strengthen your immune system:
- Get adequate sleep. Losing one hour of sleep per night depresses your
immune function.
- Wash your hands often. Try not to touch your eyes, mouth. Sneeze into
your sleeve.
- Take Vitamin D3: 5-10,000 IU each day. Increase to 50,000 IU while sick.
Children: 1,000 IU daily, 5,000 IU when sick.
- Take Vitamin C: 1,000 mg. Increase to 5,000 mgs 3 times a day while
sick; add IGG 2000 (immunoglobulin) 2 caps twice a day.
- Take probiotics: 5-10 caps a day. Feed them with plenty of fibers.
- Avoid processed sugar. one can of coke depresses white cell function by
90% for 5 hours.
- Take echinacea, mushrooms, elderberry and/or silver only while ill. They
are not indicated for maintenance protocols.
- REST!
- Drink lots of water, preferably with pomegranate or green tea when
possible.
- Consider wearing surgical mask. Essential protection if risk of exposure
to viruses is high.
The Center for Disease Control advises patients to stay home and rest and
avoid the ER and clinic, unless you are extremely ill. In that case, come in
wearing a surgical mask. The main thing Dr. Rodier’s clinic recommends during
cold and flu season is the intravenous Myer’s cocktail and plenty of fluids.
More of Dr. Rodier's recent blogs:
Are You at a Higher Risk for the Flu?
Dr. Rodier discusses a new article in Journal of the American Medical
Association pointing to the immunity risks with conditions of obesity and
insulin resistance.
Wisdom of the Ancients
While technology and ancient wisdom continue to battle it out for healing
method effectiveness, Dr. Rodier shows in this blog how both ancient knowhow and
modern advances can complement each other wonderfully if given the chance.
Mammogram Controversy
When should you get a mammogram? How often? What's the risk? Dr. Rodier talks
cancer screening and the mammogram debate that continues to evolve in medical
circles.
Docs on Coke
Dr. Rodier offers his opinions on staying away from "liquid candy"
(just do it) and Coke's
new alliance with the American Academy of Family Physicians.
That's all for now, fair members!
