MEMBER & PHARMACIST, MIKE CIELL COMPARES PAULING’S “UNIFIED THEORY” WITH PREVAILING “LIPID THEORY”

O-k, time to get serious.  Put your reading glasses on and settle in for an interesting article.

For almost 60 years, the “Lipid Theory” has been central to medical explanations of cardiovascular disease.

The Lipid Theory posits that a diet high in cholesterol and saturated fat clogs up blood vessels, restricting blood flow to the heart. However, even with diets and drugs used to lower cholesterol levels, heart disease has mostly continued to rise, claiming ever more lives.

Our favorite pharmacist and member, Mike Ciell, R.Ph. (of Tampa, Florida), contrasts the mainstream Lipid Theory with the “Unified Theory,” developed by Linus Pauling (two-time Nobel laureate and Ph.D.) and Matthias Rath, M.D.

The gist of the Unified Theory is that: (1) cholesterol build-up is the body’s natural response to malnutrition and damaged blood vessels and that (2) vitamin C, lysine, and proline are critical to repairing damaged blood vessels, reducing cholesterol, and improving cardiovascular health.

Mike Ciell’s article is now available on our website.

And for those that have Adobe Reader, here is a pdf version which will take a little longer to download but allows for easy printouts.

For our members interested in heart health, this article is well worth your time.  While the "Unified Theory" has not yet garnered mainstream medicine’s support, it does underpin the work of many successful orthomolecular practitioners.

CRITICS GIVE “PAWS UP” ON MIKE CIELL’S ARTICLE

Yep, just like the movies, it’s always good to get the “critics” involved early (surprises aren’t so much fun). The good news?  Mike’s article got a solid “paws up” review.

When I passed Mike’s article around to those “in the know” in the industry, here’s what they had to say:

“You certainly can’t dismiss Pauling as a flake. His science has always been really solid. Mike’s article is a serious piece, and I encourage you to get behind this article. ”

“Mike has done a great job of making the Unified Theory accessible.  I loved his metaphors. Well done!”

“This article is a gift for your members. A lot of the sites that cover Pauling’s work have a schlocky feel, which makes a casual reader wonder  if the Unified Theory is just another marketing  ploy. Thanks for sharing this article with me. I have already passed it along to friends!”

Take a look too and let us know what you think of Mike’s article.

Still purringly yours,

Guido
