Green Tea Extract – Ancient Immune Booster, Modern Antioxidant!
Green tea’s benefits have been chronicled for thousands of years in Chinese
medicine. While green tea comes from the same plant as black and oolong teas,
green tea leaves are not fermented, leaving most all of the beneficial
phytonutrients intact.
Green tea’s primary benefit comes from its polyphenols – powerful
antioxidants used by plants for protection, growth, and color. The most abundant
polyphenol source, the flavonoids, are known as catechins.
Studies on catechins show benefits that include:
• Improved cardiovascular function by discouraging platelet and white
blood cell build-up in artery walls, and encouraging the synthesis of nitric
oxide – a vital agent in keeping arteries and blood vessels relaxed and
pumping efficiently.
• Improved immune system function through supporting healthy cell
function and communication. Catechins positively influence normal cell
cycles, including repair, regeneration, and, as appropriate,
self-destruction.
• Valuable antioxidant and detoxification activity by scavenging free
radicals before they can lead to inflammation and toxicity in cells.

Tea Extract, 400mg, 90ct now!
Fast fact: The caffeine content in our Green Tea Extract (per
capsule) is 7mg, or roughly equivalent to a cup of “decaf” coffee or tea! And,
studies have shown that green tea’s “thermogenic” properties (ability to speed
up your metabolism and burn fat) exceed what would be expected merely from its
caffeine content.
L-Arginine – Vital Amino Acid to Heart Health & More
L-arginine’s primary benefits involve its role as a precursor to
nitric oxide (NO) – necessary for blood vessel dilation and relaxation.
Nitric oxide supports blood vessel flexibility and blood flow to keep
hypertension at bay and cardiovascular health in tune.
L-arginine also lends itself to the production of three other hard-working
amino acids: creatine (an important supplier of energy to muscles), L-glutamine
(a precursor to glutathione), and L-proline – a favorite among Co-op
Heart Plus
devotees.
For those of you who keep asking about Human Growth Hormone (HGH), you might
find it interesting to know that L-arginine can cross the blood-brain barrier
and stimulate your body’s natural release of growth hormone (from your pituitary
gland).
Alas, it's true, your growth hormone serum levels begin to decline in
your twenties, and eventually result in weight increase, muscle mass reduction,
lack of elasticity in your skin, slower wound healing, and lower overall immune
function.
As Teri's mom says, "Getting old isn't for sissies!"
